This is a no frills forum designed for entertaining discussion about our beloved Vikings. Many of us have been discussing Vikings football together for years/decades, resulting in a camaraderie which we strive to preserve.
I would feel better if Easton came back and took Dozier's roster spot. I know Easton hasn't been that good in a few years but I trust him over Dozier in a emergency spot start.
what do you see in Easton? IMO he was always overrated..... and why are the Saints getting rid of him or not re-signing him? Due to cap reasons or otherwise? I just don't see Easton as a solution.... anyone is an upgrade over Dozier, but the key is to find a starting Guard who can consistently play winning level football.... and Easton is not that IMO.....
Get off Easton's back! Our best win/loss record in the Zimmer era was with Easton as our starting LG. It must be hard for you to except that but c'mon man!! He played lights out for New Orleans for a brief time and you still question his play (overrated).......why? After he hurt his ankle against Green Bay late in the 2017 season the OL wasn't the same. That's what I thought at the time and moving Sirles, Remmers around didn't help. The cohesiveness wasn't there after Easton was injured IMO. Oh well.....................

saying he was our best LG isn't saying anything.... have we ever had a true LG... in the last... 10 years? Boone and? Everyone else is a converted LG just about..... so that isn't saying much...... I'm just wondering what he's supposedly so good at? I don't see it....

LG: Ezra 1st time playing LG in NFL? Or minimal snaps at LG in NFL previously at best.

Sounds like Bill is prepared for a Spielman Special!! Who it be who costs us wins this year? Darrisaw? Bustbury? Kicker? First time OC combined with a HC who refuses to coach offense? Who knows.... could be a spicy variety..... the intrigue for the Spielman Special is the best part.....

For sure.... let them gel. Stick with the young guys from the start.... there will be growing pains... but what's the alternative? Some journeymen like Cole or Dozier starting? No thanks .... build for the future even if thus year might be very painful.... at least, like you said, there is a plan in place for the future.... but knowing them..... you already know there will be some mix.... seems like Dozier is their preferred starter to Davis. Darrisaw preferred over Hill.... just my read/guess of their intent......

It's interesting that they went with unproven guys (in those roles, in the NFL) in all coordinator positions.....
I agree about Special Teams. They were just as much of a problem last year as our defense was..... arguably......

I didn't say Nick Easton was our best LG. We had our best win/loss record with Nick Easton as our LG. Reiff/Easton/Elflein/Berger/Remmers played well together and we had a good year with them.

You don't know that for sure and you failed to mention at what guard spot. This is a completely new year and new OL we're talking about. So much changes from year to year.
