Lol @ lemonade. I was in Texas for first time last year (Houston/Galveston) and loved it. It left me with the impression that it's a good state to live in. Always good to get a dose or two of some hardcore purple tinted views, so pile it on please.... it helps me feel better about posting my pessimistic outlook lol

Hi folks!

I'm Sasha, Viking fan for most of my life (thank you dad & my seven male cousins). Live between Uptown and downtown Minneapolis, so lots of commotion around here, and football has been one of my saving graces this past year.

Cheered for football in highschool. A few years later because of an ex, I got into a pick'em league, then fantasy football. Got so competitive and stressed out with FF, it took the fun out of being a football fan (plus it cut into my favorite time of the year to go off grid camping) so reverted to simply being a fan again. Then a couple of years later I ended up playing tag football in a co-ed league for two years until I got a black eye, cut lip, and a broken finger in the play offs (this ended up not really being a "two hand touch" league after all). My doctor suggested I find other safer hobbies, but we won the championship and went up another level the second year.

I am one of those you'd find grilling in the snow or frigid temps when we play the Packers, yes I'm a true border bitch but keep it to myself most of the time because you really can't reason with a lot of cheese heads, hahaha. I somehow ended up being the one hosting the games with my friends the past five or six years. Last year's Covid guidelines made it a somewhat lonely and surreal season since I live alone and got out of a long term relation right before the pandemic(first game last year I still made enough variety of food for 6 people out of habit :/). Now I find a couple of my best buddies spread across the country since they can work remote in IT, so our gatherings will be smaller this year. Hopefully I can possibly rant and participate in a few discussions here this year!

When the season starts, I'd like to make a thread of what we're all drinking and/or eating for each of the games if that's okay?

I had constantly brought up the vital issue of a decent kicker over on reddit the past few months, only to be snarkily accused by someone of being a debbie downer, but seriously are we just going to go with touchdowns and two point conversions all season?

I try to stay positive about Cousins, sometimes it takes a bottle of wine.

I don't mean to get political, but as someone whose father came out of semi retirement to help deal with the pandemic, especially early on, I have such mixed emotions reading about coach staff and players not respecting the medical field. He's a family physician working in urgent care and a Vikings fan, he just wants NOT to see the people coming in for preventable reasons. I hope I can share that here.

I'm Damian and I was born and raised in rural Minnesota about an hour west of the cities. I've served in the Army for the past 11 years so I've been on the move around the US trying to make it to Vikings away games. I've been to Green Bay, Carolina, Atlanta, Kansas City, and Denver to watch our beloved Team! Fandom started in 98' as my earliest memories with my dad. I was 8 years old.

You could say I'm borderline obsessed with Minnesota sports with the Vikings being my true passion. I've never been one to shut off a game that's going poorly or stop watching a bad season, football is too short for that! I don't think kirk is the best for the team but I also don't understand the ridiculous hate the man gets, he's better than bottom half like some analysts would have you believe. Thielen is my man, due to my loyalty to MN it's only natural. I have a special feeling about this season, it just feels different. Everybody's perfect off- season scenarios have been blown out of the water it seems. Can't wait for games to start again!
