I don't think we should corner ourselves into a trap... just because we don't have any gamebreaking talents on defense, doesn't mean we should enter a bidding war to keep Hunter..... we should be very careful with that.... just because we lack high end talent on defense, doesn't mean we invest huge (potentially $25mil per year?) Into Hunter's age 30, age 31, age 32, and age 33 seasons.....
I'd rather invest that money ($25mil per year) elsewhere.... in one (or more than one) younger player...... Center Cushenberry for example.... we could invest in his age 27, age 28, age 29, and age 30 seasons instead..... just one example......

As far as traps we already been in a trap one we about to extend again so what difference does it make? If you extend Kirk which they will you can’t start from scratch on defense. That is ying without the yang🤷🏾♂️
If we are going to pay Hunter $25mil roughly per year into his early 30s.... the back end of his prime years and into his decline years potentially.....
I'd rather invest that same cap space into a younger player or two who is/are entering their prime.... Madubuike maybe... or Cushenberry.... etc....
It's not a choice of Hunter or nobody.....
It's Hunter vs. some other potential very good player(s)....
I hope Kwesi makes the wise decisions on which players to invest future cap space in (especially if/when they take up significant cap space)
Let me ask you, because I'm curious what you think.... do you think Hunter is a gamebreaker at an elite level where in each and every game opponent's offensive coordinators have to scheme around facing him? Or just a very very good player who does not demand such respect?
I think he's more of the latter..... JMO.... and I really like Hunter... I just don't think he's a gamebreaker.... he's very solid all around, rare to see a player equally very good in pass rush and in run defense.... but I just don't think teams have to gameplan for him like they would for an Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett, Von Miller in his prime, etc.
