If you recall on Viking Nation, I used to compile a list of quotes from opposing fans after each game during the season (or as often as I had time). I plan on doing that on here too. Also, I figured I'd expand it a little -- by looking up some quotes for players we added. First up, I gathered some quotes from Cowboys fans on Xavier Woods. These quotes are for entertainment while also giving us an alternate perspective from our own. Here goes...
good riddance
High upside my .....
He was not a good player, and after he cried about earl Thomas being linked he showed his character...
Was pretty good in Kris Rashard's first year.
Have your worst season in your contract year. Smh
Jeez, he had a reasonably good go, there, for a while.
His angles of pursuit didn't match the ideal approach, though.
Here's wishing him the best of good luck with the Vikings, however.
Looking like hot garbage under the likes of Mike Nolan isn't really an unusual thing.

Good luck Vikings lol. You'll need it.
Those comments he made in the media about effort sure didnt help.
I thought he was done here. Thought the Cowboys would have signed you or me to play FS before bringing him back

He was good when he was more of a FS/CB hybrid. When he locked down the FS spot his instincts seemed to go bye bye. He played like he was thinking way too much. Im 2018 when they had him coming down and covering the slot, he played much more instinctively.
I think if you make him more of a high usuage subpackage player VS a full time FS, you might get much better play out of him

YESSSSS! THERE IS A GOD!!!!
Why on Earth would anyone sign a Cowboys safety?
He'll be ok in Zimmer's system as he keeps his schemes fairly simple on the back end...
He should do well there. I look forward to our Cowboys competing with those guys.
Well he better be more proactive and have more effort in his tackling. Here he was avoiding contact and making sure he didn't get hurt in his contract year. Zimmer ain't gonna put up with it. Don't think Harrison Smith has anything to worry about.
yawn and good riddance.
For those that say he’s a Jag and good riddance..I’m not here to argue. But..
For a player drafted midway through the 6th Rd.. Dallas received plenty of production for a player picked at 191. All kidding aside.. there was upside when drafting him and a lot of us was hoping for a solid starter, not envisioning ProBowl.. yet hopeful nonetheless (as with every pick). Woods handled himself well albeit his limitations. He would be a nice backup and under a different scheme, maybe a OK starter.
That said, Dallas received reasonable production from a late rd pick and that is a rarity in the NFL. Wish Woods well.. but it’s time to move on. Kazee is a decent signing, but it’s time for Dallas to spend higher draft capital at the position.

Addition by subtraction for the Cowboys. The defense was worse when Woods was on the field. Who wants a player who admits he does not go 100% every play.
Vikes like those DB types, X might fit that defense better,, if not, he is done.
2.25 million. About right for a backup.
I liked Woods up until last season. His comments about not always giving effort irked me and glad we moved on.
Would not surprise me at all if has a career year.........

He has done well for a 6th round draft pick. Best of luck.
Yes, smoke them if you have them! We all speculated prior to fa that one of the fa's was going to return, where Woods was probably the one kept. His play totally fell off a cliff last season and then those don't try comments, it's was time to move on.
Our 3 year starter at FS, now 26 and with no injury history, only got a 1 year deal at 2.25mil.
That's what the league thinks of our starting FS for 3 years. He's making less than Jeff Heath.
Who, by the way, should have gotten the FS job over Woods those years ago. GOAT!

Watch this guy look like a completely different player in Minnesota...
Woods was a good draft pick for value in the 6th, but *not* a good choice for starting FS for us for 3 years.
The league has clearly spoken. As a first time free agent, Woods only gets a 1 year deal at ~2mil. That's the kind of money we give to disposable bridge veteran free agents, or even disposable free agent *backups*. That's a roster insurance signing.
It will be interesting to see how much of the 2mil he got guaranteed. If not much, he's signing up to be a cut on final cuts unless the Vikes just need another warm body come the season. Sad.

YESSSSS!!!!!!
Woods is awful, we needed a change.
In no way saying I think Woods warranted bringing back to Dallas but interesting stat:
Missed Tackle % 2020
X. Woods 7.7%
K. Neal 9.9%
D. Kazee 9.1%
Opposing QB Comp % 2020
X. Woods 79.3% (23 of 29 for 250 Yards and 3 TD's)
K. Neal 74.2% (49 of 66 for 564 Yards and 1 TD)
D. Kazee 75% (3 of 4 for 54 Yards)

The same people who will miss Woods are the same people who thanked Tyrone Crawford for his services. Good riddance to trash.
Good riddance. IMO one of the worst starters in the league last year. Guy thought he was a stud. It was laughable. He sucked.
Just another useless player in the secondary. No big loss.
Completely overpaid for a backup. For 2.5 mil more...they could have kept their starter Harris.
Wouldn't shock me to see Vikings draft someone and Woods doesn't even make the roster.
I have a feeling he'll play better. Playing next to Harrison Smith and under Mike (aka football jesus) Zimmer night make a difference. I doubt he'll be allowed to do the foolishness he pulled here.
Pretty easily replaced.
Good riddance...
Now watch him succeed under new coaching. Wouldn't suprise me but he's just a cheap insurance policy at this point

Woods played much better in 2019 than 2020.
Xavier Woods made me miss Jeff Heath.
Good bye Xavier. Dont make too much "effort" making your flight.
He might have a high upside for that team and that scheme. Good luck to him.
Good riddance to the lazy "take plays off" guy. Buh-bye, never knew ya!
What's more likely is that Cowboys fans are totally out of touch with what average NFL safety play is.
Worse than a JAG. He was a NAG. Never. A. Guy.
A career year for Woods would be 2 INTs and 50 tackles.
The guy sucked.
The guy sucked.
So happy he is gone. He was an easy one to move away from though. All the tough ones remian.
