Nice move by the Vikes.
not a guy you want to see leave. That said, Giants could have matched that but would have been over committed to d-line cost.
Tomlinson will be hard to replace.
That’s a bargain contract on a really really quality player. Best of luck to him.
They structured the contract so as to make it hard for the Giants to match. Good luck to a good guy.
That’s a really smart, good deal.
Tomlinson - on that deal - couldn't be had? Maybe he didn't want to be here? Not great.
the Giants absolutely could have signed him at that contract. But they clearly think he is replaceable fairly easily at a much much less number
Ouch... this is starting to hurt a little...
So we didn't trade him so that we could let him walk in the offseason.
On one hand, I find it hard to believe we couldn't keep him because that is a reasonable deal. On the other, they still have a solid DL with Hill, Lawrence, and Williams. Depth will be the key, though.
contract very reasonable he is durable, a good solid trending up DT who is durable
That sucks. I didn't think he was returning so not shocked. It still sucks.
Good Luck to DT. Wish him all the best.
Really tough to lose a good player and leader in Tomlinson.
Reminiscent of when Linval Joseph signed with the Vikings.

One of the golden rules with building a young team is you’re supposed to keep your young talent that you drafted. I don’t like it.
Another missed opportunity by Gettleman. The Vikings seem to go for a Giant NT every four years because they know they're getting a good player.
Yet another gifted DT draft pick we lose after their first contract.
So much for building the LOS...Tomlinson should’ve played his entire career here.
This FO has no direction.

Saw this coming. It still disgusts me. Nobody epitomizes being a Giants Player more that Dalvin Tomlison.
This is a real shame. Vikes pick up a nice player at a seemingly decent number.
I like Tomlinson a lot and am very sorry to see him go, but people here seem surprised. Did people really think he was going to be kept? Obviously it was not impossible, but things were always pointing strongly in this direction. Same with Zeitler.
The error here was essentially choosing Logan Ryan over Dalvin. That was a mistake.
I guess we are the farm system for the Vikings now. Uggggggggggggg
During the season everyone thought Tomlinson was a good productive player. Now that he left via FA, people are acting like he was Aaron Donald! Calm down people!!
They declined a trade offer from Green Bay and now let him walk for nothing. Typical of Gettleman to bungle this.
Tomlinson's deal is not that big or impressive. It seems like the Giants could have retained Tomlinson if they wished. From the outside looking in it would appear the Giants made a decision to move on from Tomlinson.
I hate seeing Thomlinson sign with Vikes at a reasonable price tag. That being said, the Giants have no salary cap room, literally none at this point.
Retaining Dalvin to save Gettleman’s job just so Gettleman could let Dalvin walk was not the right move: then, now, ever. Only 1 out of those 2 was not performing their job. The Giants let the wrong one go.
Tomlinson was always going to be gone. We have too many Dts that do the same thing. Yes, he was a high character guy but there is no point in paying 10 mil a year for something that you already have on the roster IMO.
Following in Linvals footsteps. He will be missed.
No surprises. Financially impossible for us.
Tears coming...
Tears coming...
Vikes front loaded it knowing we couldn't match it
Even if we extended Williams 16 million in 2021 wouldn't have worked for us ...
Fare thee well

Congrats to Dalvin, Vikings getting a good Very UNDERRATED Player. Beast against the Run!
I hate the cap
Damnit I knew this was happening but didn't want to believe it.. Vikings got a damn good player.
Later Dalvin! you were the DT i'd rather kept, hope the Vikings enjoy your services with a steal of a deal. Good luck... except against the Giants.
Why trade players to get something in return when we can let them walk away for nothing?
Wont be on the stat sheet but this is the shit I loved. Snap after snap, you had to double him cause he'd blast OG's on 1v1s
Glad my dude got paid was a really good Giant excellent nose and steady and dependable as can be will be missed I get it tho.
We are going to get or asses run on again. Shit!
It's amazing how we are simultaneously in cap hell and talent hell at the same time.
Huge blow.
I would have signed Tomlinson to that deal in a heart beat and forget the 29 year old RB and whoever else.

He'll be missed. I wanted to have a giant for his career. That is reality of the cap. We can't pay everyone.
Good for him for getting off this team!
DT gave us all he had.
Hard worker, fierce force in the middle, showed up to play every week.
Class act and quiet leader.
Good luck Dalvin and hire a good financial advisor. Your family should be set with that contract.......and you are young enough for another one after that.

This is really disheartening.
The Vikings just got a player that is as impactful as Linval Joseph there.
Its just business...
Too bad...
Too bad...
Yeah but Vikings also fell for Cousins after he did his best Lebron impression. Yes, they are good at stealing our proven run stuffers but going nowhere with Kurt.
Absolutely NOTHING to not like about Dalvin. Solid player, solid teammate, solid human. Oh yeah, he liked classic rock too. This one stings. This is the type of player YOU KEEP.
